Good-Bye HDDVD; Hello Blu-Ray!

Since toshiba has officially bailed out on the whole HD-DVD. Even the Xbox 360 HDDVD addon is not available under $40. Seems like just a huge waste now. A few people on my forums is saying that Toshiba may just concentrate on Eur. countries for HDDVD others says they just concentrate on other things. Does anyone have an HD-DVD player? Wondering how you feel about this. I would ask about Blu-Ray but for all of us that have a PS3 I'm pretty sure you using it for more then just a Blu-Ray movie player.

For me I saw it coming since Microsoft wasn't in a big hurry to put the HDDVD addon out all that fast and also didn't make any games for the addon led me to think it wasn't going to last long. Atleast from that aspect of it.

I think that it is the right decision. Blue-ray DVDs can store much more information than HD-DVDs, this is the main reason according to me that they are being used by sony! :D

Even before Toshiba officially announced its plan to go off from the HD DVD business, the writing on the wall was clear for quite some time. How long will you pump money into a failing business? The support for Sony was and is increasing day by day and at one point of time, it was time for Toshiba to call it a day. Let the soul rest peacefully. Long live Sony Blu ray :)

During the time of the war between the 2 Blu-Ray players have been rising in prices since they now have no compeition and HD-DVD movies are selling for then multple times the prices since there's not going to be much of them left.

Blu-ray will last for a few years ahead. Something else is just waiting for that to be gone now :|
