Consumatron.com a neat Chicago-based blog recently invited its community out for their first annual Revue. Chicago-based performance artists took the stage and they raised money for a local tutoring program.

There's a really well-done review of the event here that got me thinking...

Has anyone else tried organizing something similar for their blogs? I'm intrigued by the idea of supplementing my blog with the occasional "meet-up."

I was really encouraged by the feeling of goodwill their event seems to have created.

That's a great idea. Truthfully, I haven't done it yet but one of my blogs is tied in with a four year old community that also has a forum.

I also think it is a great way to set your blog apart from the pack while doing something decent for the community. Now you have gotten me thinking...
