A friend of mine has launched a sports blog and he updates it regularly with articles. I've been helping him with promotion and have gone down the usual routes so far: social networking, forum posts, blog comments, a few link exchanges etc. It's going quite well considering the site is new. I want to explore more angles though, and it occured to me that writing articles for other sites would be a good way of generating interest. I have a few questions as it's an area I'm not too familiar with: 1) Generally speaking, can you submit articles which already feature on your site? 2) Can you submit the same article to multiple article sites? 3) Are there are good article directories which link to article sites in particular niches, such as a sports niche in this case? 4) Have you personally have much success using article sites, and do you have any advice or tips to offer? Don't feel the need to reply to all of these questions. If you have anything of value to bring to the thread feel free to contribute .
I'm using Isnare which are pretty good, easy to work with, and they will distribute your article to thousands of directories... they do require unique articles written by you (under your name)... Other good service is in my sig... download that e-book about building backlinks and you get more idea on the subject...
1) Yes you can submit the same article to different sites. 2) I would say no it's not a good idea to submit an article you already have on your site as Google will class this as duplicate content. 3) Most article sites have different categories so I'm sure you would be able to find the niche you are looking for quite easily. 4) Yes I have had good success with article submission, it's still one of the best and oldest methods of traffic generation.
Thanks danzig. I've repped you and Valineo. In relation to answer 4, is there any chance you could give an example or two of articles sites you find most useful? Thanks.
EZA has a PR6 so EZA is my best bet. In the past I used to submit the same article posted in my blog to EZA. I learned from another forum that I should re-word my content to avoid being tagged as duplicate content. My suggestion is to re-write the articles before submitting it to article directories. If it takes much of your time, let somebody do it for you. Repetitive tasks should be outsourced, imo.
