Great article just goes to show about the relationship to your inbound and outbound links. I've noticed this with directories that require you to link to them. These become known as link farms due to their extreme amount of incoming and outgoing links and they tend to fall back into the SERP's as a consequence. Best to stick with three way link building that way all parties involved receive oneway incoming links which to search engines look like a genuine vote to your content. Thanks for sharing, ROOFIS
