Good Ad Placement?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by Peachy, Jan 12, 2008.

A friend and I run a guild which gets pretty heavy traffic (well heavy in a guild way) and currently we have vbulletin set up with a single ad underneath the Nav Bar and general forum area.

What I'm wondering is, is that a good placement?

    Here's where its at: http://www.legionofsteel.org/forums/index.php4

    Thanks :)

edit: Oops, I meant this to go into the ad placement sub-forum. Sorry!

Ok, I'll see what we can do about that. It might cause some anti-ad rebels to surface, but who knows lol. :D

In my forum i only show ads to anonymous visitors - registered members dont see ads..
I also use Kontera, which usually (although not this flibbin week) usually generates far more in my forum than Adsense.

I don't know if we hit the "must generate at least 250,000 page-impressions per month" quota. But that does look like it could be of use in the future.

Ah ok, I'll look into it. We're trying not to make the guild site/forum too ad-heavy, since it's a casual place to hang out. But I'll look into this, it doesn't appear to be too obtrusive.

    :)

My entire website is the same way.. we keep it as spam-free as possible.. only a little Adsense and a smidgen of Kontera for Anonymous visitors only.

I'm suprised Google hasn't picked up on that, or have they? I've only noticed the banners, search, and referrel stuff.

I meant how Google doesn't offer the same thing as Kontera. At least, not that I know of. :)

You know... your 100% right. lol. Google will do that, it's easier to just swallow up a company that's doing well rather then to start a company.
