Forgive me for the lousy title, but don't know if its google dance or i just did something wrong. after weeks of hard work and i finally ranked number 1 on 4 types keyword queries, now this morning when i woke up and saw that me and my competitor both lost our ranks in the top 30 SERPs in google.

what the hell just happened? is it google dance? or i did something wrong? all that hard work paid of for just a few days T__T

How old is your site? Perhaps you did too much too soon and being penalized by google?

This is VERY common. It's not the Google dance... It's the Google Honeymoon which for you my friend unfortunately appears to be over. Now the "real" work begins.

I have found that my dating site did the same thing the past week... it went to page 30 then back to the first page all in the matter of a week... so i am assuming tis the Google Dance we have all come to love haunting us all!

Can I know which google TLD you check? If it is .co.uk then, it might be the recent update. Google is trying to give geo targeted sites even with .com to get top ranking in geo targeted google. My guess is that it will reach other TLD soon. As for google.com, they have done one massive update called Caffeine and probably it will be updated within weeks to months from Matt's post http://mattcutts.com/blog/caffeine-update/ Hope it helps.

Its very common friend. Google provide top position for newly crawled site for some few week to know skip rate, bouncing, page load time and all. it is called google honeymoon. After that period your site will be pulled to original postion (tat is 77 for u). From there , you need to work hard to beat your competitor. Good luck.
