I'm just so used to it and 1.5 seems to be the easiest for my developing and client needs. When I first tried 1.6 I found it to be really difficult to use... all the new stuff built in. It took me around a good year before I used 1.5 since it was released. Do you feel my plans of sticking with 1.5 are worth it or should I just start putting up with 1.6/1.7?Â
Hellodo not move to 1.6, end of life is in one month. It all depends on what kind of site is is and what extensions you are using. At the end, you ll have to move away from 1.5 as it won't be supported after April 2012. So, there s no rush but you think of it before april either to go j1.7 or j 1.8 that will come out in January 2012
If you already have your website setup on 1.5 and everythign works properly I would not suggest you upgrade to latest version, it's possible your site skin not compatible with newer joomla.
I myself still use joomla 1.5. Now, almost extensions and template are designed for joomla 1.5, it is easier to choose something to add in website. I will update the latest version when the long term version of joomla release. I read somewhere, joomla 1.8 will be the long term version and will exists for 1.5 year before other newer version releases ...
I'm continuing to use Joomla 1.5, because all my addons do not support 1.6, and having no legacy mode annoys me in 1.6 too.
I'm continuing to use 1.5, but for some new sites i prefer 1.6. One problem, that there no such great templates for 1.6.
Yes, they are waiting to long term versions. It will waste a lot of money because joomla 1.6 only exists in short time.
