    Hi
I think we should have an option to go offline, ( like in facebook ). if we don't want to show others that we are online and what we are doing. I had a situation that if I could go offline, that could be much easier to deal with.

    at least for premium members.

    regards.

This is possible on most forum softwares such as MyBB and phpBB, I know it is possible on vBulletin too but I'm not sure what restrictions the forum Administrator has added to it here.

It's possible, but it was intentionally disabled. Not sure what a legitimate reason for wanting to hide would be...

It sounds pretty much the same as the "log in as invisible" VB function. Its nice to hide in the dark, but the negatives are as a forum owner is if 15% of the people do this, than the forum looks 15% more inactive.
Most admins frown upon features that pose a negative affect like this.

Us disabling it has nothing to do with perceived activity... If we wanted to bloat activity, we would do what other forums do, and make the session time longer (we only count people as "online" for a 15 minute window... some other popular forums do it for an 8 hour window).

I just don't see a real reason why it would be useful is all. I can only think of people doing sneaky stuff by being invisible.

I'm not opposed to it, I just need to be talked into it, is all...

You can't access other members profiles as well as Underground forum and you can't post.

A small sacrifice for remaining anonymous. :)

But that is the main intention of OP to remain invisible IMO.
