Going from PR4 to PR5

I know all the old-timers are going to say "PR doesn't even matter, why bother"...

But anyways, I've got a couple PR4 sites, and their backlinks have been steadily increasing, a couple sites have been around quite some time too, and still none have gone to PR5...

I know it's easy to get PR1, PR2, PR3, and semi-easy to get PR4, but is PR5 a big jump?

i agree with you. being pr 5 is a big sign trusted web sites. if you want to become pr , you need backlinks from pr 5+ web sites

 

On my first website, and my first attempt at SEO, I reached a PR5 on my first first first website. It isn't so tough, but I'm a genius, so yeah.

Anyways, PR5 isn't actually difficult to get there. I find the hardest part of PR increasing is that maintaining a steady PR and trying to increase it after the first Google Update. Hope that helps.

 

With just 400 links I got several pr 5 sites. But those sites have more than 12000 back links but after last pr update they went to pr 4. Don't know why. Any explanation ? I checked not old links got deleted, they are still up at their position. That time was feeling crazy. Bought several pr 7 s this time, hope I'll gain some good pr.

 

each level of pr is progressively harder than the last eg:

pr1 is 5x harder than pr0
pr2 is 5x harder than pr1
pr3 is 5x harder than pr2
pr4 is 5x harder than pr3
pr5 is 5x harder than pr4....... and so on

if you want PR5 get 20 one way links from PR5 pages, or 4 links from PR6 pages, or 1 PR7 link, and that should give you a PR5, all in theory of course.

 

1 year ago it was very easy to get a PR5 but now it's a bit hard, many sites that were PR5 also became PR4 in the last update, even DP became PR6 from PR7!
So yes, It's a bit hard to get a PR5 at the moment

 

it's not really hard to get pr5, because I just did it... just get link to other pr5, pr6 are better

 

Get more quality links with high PR.

 

that's why they want it harder to get high PR, to bring back trust and quality

 

lol I'm still finding it difficult to get my hobby/humor/enertainment site above PR1. It's ridiculous! lol. I need to get into more directories.

More (good) links = higher PR. Look for directories, similar niche directories, blogs, everything you can! Good luck

 

yeah! i had the same problem going from PR4 -> PR5. I tried submitting links to several sites, but not working for me. I have only PR4. May be i should play a waiting game.

BTW i was given advice from people on DP to first post quality content and this would help in natural link building. If people find your content interesting you will get linked 'naturally'

 

Getting pagerank 1-5 is easy. Getting a 6 is a big step

littlebobek, that table not very good. It's along the right idea but their are much easier ways.

 

The day of those kind of calculative theories have gone my friend. Some sites were PR7 begore April update with only PR7 links. Then they bought PR8 & 9 links and they are now PR6.

Those kind of calculative theories worked fine till few updates ago. But they are utter rubbish now with the new ALGO

 

I have a slew of pr4 sites. I even have a pr4 ringtone landing page.

But nothing gets pr5 or better

 

I have a PR4, PR3 , PR2 and again PR3 and Couple of PR0........Hope to make atleast 1 PR5 by thr next update...............
