No, it is not necessary purchase hosting, in fact not advisable.

To point your domains names log into your account (top right menu), then click on "My Account" below your username.

You will see a "Welcome" screen on the left, click on "Manage Domains.

Now check the box next to your domain name and select "Set Name Servers" from the buttons on the top.

In the right side will appear the instructions to make the corresponding changes.

thanks. i tried this. but it says

    Field Validation Error

    Please correct the following issue(s):

Unavailable error in field Host name1
Unavailable error in field Host name2

The unavailable error could be received if the nameserver entered is not registered at the registry.

    Hi nvidura,

I think its better for you to verify the nameserver with your host again.. or has your hosting plan expire already?

You don't want to "Set Nameservers", you need to "Forward Domains".

In order to setup nameservers you need to introduce valid pointers, in example, those of your hosting service: NS1.whatever, NS2.whatever, or something similar, if you are not hosted yet, get hosting first before play with this setting.

Forwarding is a solution if there is a site already hosted, but it seems there is any yet.

My preferred hosting service is Servage, pm me if you need further details so we don't trash nvidura topic ;)

Following are the information I received from hosting company.

    Name servers are
    NS1.ESRILANKANS.COM - IP: 69.72.214.18
    NS2.ESRILANKANS.COM - IP: 69.72.214.19

esrilankans.com:2087 is the WHM. I have pointed some other yahoo domains to this host. (Not by the name server but by the ip) they are working fine. But when I try to set this in godady I receive above error. Like we do in yahoo, is there any way to point the domain to ip?

Probably the error is that you are trying to introduce both the nameservers and IP in the same field where I pointed you to.

for nameservers just use NS1.ESRILANKANS.COM and NS1.ESRILANKANS.COM

but if you prefer setup your domain by IP, once again go to the area where your domain is listed and click on its name.

    - You will see the name servers summary, leave it as
    PARKCT1.SECURESERVER.NET
    PARKCT2.SECURESERVER.NET
    - Scroll down to the bottom right to find Total DNS Control
    - Click on the plus (+) sign to access the settings
    - You will see this:
    Manage Subdomains
Total DNS Control And MX Records <- click on this option

A new window will present the DNS manager from where you will be able to introduce the corresponding IP addresses.
