Just bought 7 .com's from godaddy only for somone to tell me:

In GoDaddy's TOS it states that

    he said,
"they stats that they have the right to charge you at any time for dns changes"
    and
"you only rent the domain, so they could take it of u"

    ??!?!

I've been using them for 4 years and have never been charged for DNS changes.

I have only had them "take" a domain from me once, which was really my fault.

(I had the great idea that I would set up a 1 page email sending site, no login required.) 1+ million visits later Godaddy decided that it was a great idea after all....

I hate GoDaddy for all those reasons only. I never use it. Its better to use Dynadot.
I have around 112 domains registered at Dynadot.com. And never trust Godaddy. They can do anything.

I've never been charged for a DNS Change and I've done it plenty of times. I doubt something like that is true.

From what I understand, only the .nu domain charges for DNS Change and I believe that clause may be to cover that situation. However it does not apply to other domain names and you really have nothing to worry about.

Incidentally, where did you read those TOS from ?

I have tons of domains at GoDaddy because it was the winner taking over RegisterFly's user accounts and despite my cousin made a huge effort to transfer away as many domains as he could, we left those falling today into GoDaddy.

I was not aware of that clause and although I have never been charged, I will continue transferring away the remaining domains, although I'm not longer trusting on Dynadot since they took one of my queries for a unique domain as a part of its domain tasting for a few days.

Actually all my domains are going to Domainsite and Name.com, though I still have domains at GoDaddy, Dynadot, MyDomain and most recently 1&1, which suprisingly cancelled some of the domains as I requested and without the hassle I was expecting from them :)

P.S. Besides, and a little off-toppic, how annoying and unfriendly is GoDaddy's control panel, always aimed to make you spend in what you don't need.

Its on TOS, but they don't practice it?
That would be a bummer if they really charge!

Never really been charged, used them awhile back, no such good service. But overall they are ok. Not recommended. There are plenty of other places that you could use.

I have heaps of domains at GoDaddy and have never had that happen. I have heard many mixed reviews about GoDaddy but I must admit that I have never had any problems with them

Maybe those reviews were about their hosting solutions which are not exactly the best :)

I've been with Godaddy for 4+ years and (aside from them trying to sell me everything including the kitchen sink when I check out) haven't had any problems with them, dns wise or elsewise. They've never charged me for anything extra.

I only keep my .info domains (for proxies) with GoDaddy.. since they charge $1.99.. Other then that I prefer to use DynaDot and NameCheap!

This is really what makes me feel they are not the best, trying to sell even the air you breathe, not to mention they are not the cheaper and its support service is very poor.

Even though I like that blond guy that appears in the front page from time to time instead of those chicks on-site, LOL

The constant up selling is annoying, but you learn to ignore it. has any body ever bought your own name.name they keep throwing at you at checkout yet?
