GoDaddy?

I am going to be registering a domain name really soon. I was wondering what registar I should go with. I sit back and see godaddy comercials all the time, but what are the pros and cons of using godaddy?

Are there better registars to be looking at?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Do we need yet another topic on whether or not to use Godaddy? There is search function in this forum, as well as Google. Godaddy has a lame interface and keeps trying to sell you other crap but it's fine. They're all fine, just don't use a re-seller, make sure to use an actual ICANN registrar.

Never had a problem with Godaddy, they will all try and upsell you, just stick to what you want and need. Another one to try is bigpixie.

Godaddy is a great hosting company and domain registrar - especially because you can register, and host your domains using one simple user interface! Definitely go with Godaddy - its the best choice.

Take a look at nodaddy.com. You will find some stories there. I found this website after I've had problems with GoDaddy Abuse Department. If you have active sites on domains registered at GoDaddy you should think twice if you would like to keep your domains there.

I use a Directi reseller account for my domains so I get them a bit cheaper...but starting out I would have to say godaddy, although I hate their panel and how they keep trying to push other crap all I want is a domain ffs.

Me for example - I'm not worried only about problems but also at what it happens when you have a problem. How will react your registrar when something happens? What it will be the registrar position between you and others? The problem with GoDaddy is that they don't really care about customers. If someone else, out of the relationship between you and GoDaddy has a complaint, then you are burned. GoDaddy it will suspend your account immediately and, if you are lucky enough, you will not loose your domain, but you will have to pay a stupid fee for reactivation.

I'm not saying that GoDaddy it's not a good registrar, but for me every detail counts. My living depends on my internet business so I'm more carefully with such things.
