Try aplus and you'll know either namecheap and godaddy is good enough.

    I prefer godaddy.

I like godaddy, quick and easy

Plus I get their rubbish hosting for my rubbish sites, so I get cheap domains that way :)

namecheap for sure. when you try to mess with the DNS on namecheap it updates right away.. when you try to do it with godaddy it takes me usually AT LEAST 12 hours.

Really?? When I update my DNS settings on Godaddy it's instant. I change them, setup the addon domain with my host, and go on my merry way uploading files if I'm ready.

godaddy don't allow people from hong kong to get domains, as I found out when trying to transfer. But they have hong kong on there country list.

Yeah, they don't tell ya until after you sign up and realized that you are not legally allowed to use it.

At least they were gracious enough not to lock my accounts. I've moved out all my domains from GoDaddy when their 'no-transfer' period ended. Now waiting for that to be lifted and I will move it.

Hey all, hope that I'm not too late to the thread... but wanted to thank all of you because this was exactly the information that I was looking for... you all rock!

To give some love back everyone... I just found these 2 coupon codes for namecheap:
    Yaffaspecial -- $.90 off new reg/renewal
    MORE4LESS -- $.89 off new reg

That buys a beer where I live (almost), I just used the Yaffaspecial, so know that one is still active.

    Hope it helps,
    Starke

Godaddy will give you a discount if you leave it to the last 5 days or so. Which is f*cking stupid. They remind you TWO MONTHS before its up, so they'd obviously like you to renew early, but don't give you a discount till the very last minute. I'd renew ALL my domains early for an automatic discount.

Probably some Godaddy 'MBA' read the 'discounts for idiots' manual wrong.

It's the main reason why everytime one of my Godaddy domains comes up, I move it to another registrar.

I'm using both of them. GD have many offer and discounts, while namecheap have a clean and simple interface

I've been using godaddy for a couple years now. i do enjoy their service but a recent conflict with them makes me question how well they've trained their technical support lol. i was having issues adding host records as i needed to insert my server's IP address while setting up the name servers.. i called 3 different times and spoke with 3 different tech reps and not one of them knew what the hell i was even talking about :( they kept telling me that had to be done on my server. Anyway, aside from that little conflict i do enjoy using godaddy and i cannot really speak for "namecheap" but i imagine they're just as good.

Godaddy and Namecheap both are good Domain registrars and both offer coupons which reduce price for domain registrations and I prefer Godaddy over namecheap since Godaddy interface is better :)
