Anyone familiar with how Unlimited GoDaddy's "Unlimted Hosting" is? I know sites such as dreamhost give unlimited hosting, but do not allow file/image/etc hosting sites. I was wondering if GoDaddy's unlimited hosting does, and how reliable they are.

There is no such thing as true unlimited hosting. You use enough bandwidth or space and you are going to hear from the host. Godaddy hosting is horrible - a lot of better hosts out there.

Any suggestions? I had a hosting site on DreamHost that got a spike in traffic and used ~10gigs of bandwidth in about an hour, and my site slowed to a halt. They eventually removed my site because of the ToS of hosting sites. Looking for a hosting plan where I can have reasonable spikes in traffic such as that with no interruptions.

    Their server is slow.

What kind of site you host that get 10G bandwidth per hour?

There is no such thing as unlimited hosting . My suggestion is to get a dedi you will notice the difference . And there are plenty of offers to chose from .

DreamHost. They haven't been that bad really. My site was up for 3 weeks, and used ~170gigs total I think. I had some pretty large spikes ( like the 10gigs in an hour ), and had no problems until yesterday.

As far as getting a dedicated server, it's not exactly in my price range atm, as I was not making nearly enough from ads to help pay for it. I'm looking for a good host that has "unlimited" bandwidth for a site that I'm going to change around and not host larger files ( only 0-500KB pictures basically ) for no more than $15/m really.

My previous site was an image hosting site. So there were gifs being uploaded and shared, which is where the huge amount of traffic was coming from. My next will be close to same, however limited a lot more on the size of the images, until I can get dedicated hosting.

I don't think legit shared hosting company will host you.

    You need at least VPS.

File hosting is impossible to run on a shared web hosting account and as mentos said, no legit hosting company will host you, get yourself a dedicated server.
