I feel for you man!!! Sosu.com is soooooooo nice. It's beyond me why registrars don't lock the name when there is a dispute and then do their own investigation. If they asked for proof of who each party involved was ie. Birth cert, driving license etc. and proof of payment. They would soon discover who was the scammer and who was the victim then they could put things right. Claiming they will only act if they receive a directive from a court is bullshit as they know lawyer fees far outweigh the loss in many cases!
SOSU is my college so it reallllly sucks! Yep I tried to login to my godaddy account one day and everything had changed. I was able to give them my pin which I set up 8+ years ago. Then I found my domains were transfered to another godaddy account from an ip in China. I have been fighting with godaddy every day there after. They will not do anything. Here is one of my emails to them. From: To: Subject: SOSU.COM Hello, We have again attempted to reach the registrant for the domain. The telephone number is a working number. However, we were not able to speak with anyone to confirm whether the number is associated with the domain name. Domain Services [IncidentID:241103] ------------ Original Message ------------ From: To: Subject: RE: SOSU.COM Date: 4/7/2008 8:54:14 AM I spoke with a woman at that phone number that said she does not know anything about the theft or the doamin. The hacker is not responding to my emails. I can not believe you would let someone steal my domain and host it at your company. I will be closing my account with you asap! I lost two great domains because of you. Scott > From: > To: > Subject: SOSU.COM > Date: Sat, 5 Apr 2008 09:01:43 -0700 > > Hello, > > The telephone number is a working number. I am another victim! Does this cycle ever end? We need to sue Godaddy in a class action suit. I am trying to contact Alan Wastler at CNN. Maybe we can get a story done on it. The domains I have had stolen are: iHYM(.)com ihym.com This domain has been stolen. Do not purchase from anyone claiming they own it! Contact me if you were offered this name! iBJF(.)com ibjf.com This domain has been stolen. Do not purchase from anyone claiming they own it! Contact me if you were offered this name! Here is the info he used: He then sent the funds using this account: And his Godaddy info he sent was: Robert Watson address: 2661 Horner Street city: Akron state: ohio zip:44308 phone: 3309682415 email:
*File a police report. Who do you file it against? *File a small claim against GoDaddy in the small claims court (no lawyer needed), low filing fee too. ($20 -$100, I think) What do I say Godaddy did?
Q.*File a police report. Who do you file it against? A. Stolen property. Q.*File a small claim against GoDaddy in the small claims court (no lawyer needed), low filing fee too. ($20 -$100, I think) What do I say Godaddy did? A. According to Godaddy policy they will take action if police, court or ICAN order. Godaddy will never show up at small claim court ( to costly, bad PR ),you will win by defolt. If they show up you win anyway. After the report you may proceed to Feds, the way I hear it they allready looking into TDNAM on RICO...... I am waiting for for it........ in mean time start moving your domains from Godaddy.......
You still didn't answer my question. If I file a claim against Godaddy in small claims court, what do I say Godaddy did? Do you have experience at this or are you pulling this out your ......
I couldn't even get my local police to allow me to file a police report. They said they do not have the resources to file that type of report. I guess IC3.gov will have to do? And I have not taken it to small claims court yet, if I will? I reported the names as having invalid WhoIs info to GoDaddy. They suspended the names and say that they now own them. They still will not give them back and they said they will sell them on the TDNAM when the expiration date lapses. I still don't quite know what to do about that, GoDaddy is now the theif of my names...
I have received a strange PM who request only to buy my godaddy domains about 6 hours ago, and now he is banned for some strange reason! compules http://forums.digitalpoint.com/member.php?u=123542
You're lucky that he's banned before you trade with him. Do a search in the forum here and you'll see he has scammed at least 15 llll.com from two members. When the offer prices are too good, be extra careful.
I urged him to use an escrow service, and he ignored me! Thank god! Please call the police and put him to jail!
Make that 3 members. compules got 10 LLLL.COM domains from me on Thursday night and this morning, I woke up to find the gut wrenching e-mail from Paypal! Paypal tells me that the owner of the paypal account is saying it was used fraudulently. GoDaddy put their thumb firmly up their ass, as usual. I am working with Paypal as they haven't yet told me that I'm screwed.
What do you mean? You got a domain returned from Godaddy? If that's the case there may be hope after all.
Yes, how.. ? When they told me they don't get involved in disputed I told them I thnk they treat there VIP clients differently and they said no.. I'm sure they do.. ARe you a VIP ? lol
I just wanted to post an update that I still have not received my domain names back. GJRF.com and ZMUL.com are still stolen property, DO NOT BUY these names!
Some of my stolen domains have started to appear in the name of Brian Krassenstein - Using the email: If you google the email and the name you will find lots of scams this person and his brother have been involved in since 2003. Here is one story in particular that explains their scams etc. http://www.code4gold.com/blog/category/scams-and-scammers/ I believe that Brian Krassenstein is behind most of the theft of domains that are linked to the Godaddy+Paypal scam. I suggest other's put an alert on the whois of their stolen domains and see where they eventually end up. My betting is in the hands of Brian Krassenstein!
That's a really good idea. Nobody is going to get my names since I reported the invalid WhoIs, but for those who have not done this, they should definetly track there stolen names and watch to see where they end up. Thanks for sharing the info, I'm looking into this now..
