GoDaddy says domain expiring, is it really expiring?

There is a domain I want, Godaddy is showing the expiration date in a few days. Is it really expiring or is it likely that the autorenew will kick in last minute?

    Thanks

Auto renew should pick it up on the day it is set to "expire". If not, you can still recover your domain as the same rate for a few weeks after. However after a certain period, it will enter a "pending deleting" or similar status. Once it hits this status, you will have to wait for your old registrar to drop the domain and then hopefully reregister it before someone else. I'd recommend not letting it get that far :)

Honestly I'd recommend eNom over GoDaddy for domains due the fact that GoDaddys ordering process is cluttered with spam

GD sends expiration notice 90 days in advance.

If your domain is set to auto-renew, GD with auto renew it or else you will have to manually renew it.

After the Domain expires, you can still renew it at the renewal cost for about 40 days..After that it moves into the redemption period for about 30 days ( it costs about 60-70 $ then ) and then goes into the deleted status for 5 days before becoming available for re-registration..
