GoDaddy & PayPal

Guys i was registering a domain name for a client today from GoDaddy.com with a coupon code. Everything went fine but when i tried to pay via PayPal it asked to enter a new Credit Card info. This has never happened before.

I cancelled the transaction and registered the domain via NameCheap paying a little more. I added funds to namecheap via PayPal but PayPal never asked for any CC details.

Anyone know whats the issue ?

Some coupons can only be used with Credit Card to prevent people using them more then once.

Usually Paypal is no problem at GD.

    Hi qantar,

This problem occurs because your paypal account is not verified. Godaddy doesn't allow unverified paypal payments to be made - you will either have to verify it, use a gift card or use a different domain provider.

Sometimes when Godaddy have a really cheap coupon code like $1 .com's then the PayPal option is not even available.

Guys my Paypal is verified for past 4-5 years. I registered domain with namecheap they didn't had this problem and in both cases Discount Coupon was not used.

I think its a problem with GoDaddy only.

Hey, with Godaddy you need a credit card to make payments, even if you use Paypal for it, you still need a credit card hooked up to it.

The same thing happened to me. On my case, it has something to do with the fact that I used a Discount Code -- when I use the same code again Paypal option did not appear anymore. Maybe it is their way of limiting the use of promotional codes.
