Godaddy or Namecheap ?

Discussion in 'Domain Names' started by adsense4money, Aug 6, 2007.

I want ot buy some domains (less than 10) for some websites and I can't choose between godaddy and namecheap. Can someone give me pros and cons for each service.
I will also be buying some more domains from time to time (when I have a good idea) for later use or just park them. So there will never be more than 2 or 3 domains registered at the same time (no bulk) and no serious domaining!
    Help appreciated.

    I always use Godaddy.

    Pros:
    - Cheap prices with coupons
    - Very good reputation
    - Lots of features

They are just my personal favorite :)

Yeah some people have had some issues but same with every registrar and in my books they have a good reputation well until they screw me over and take my domains lol.

I have also been told that "everybody has a godaddy account" why is that so important, is it for transfers
what I don't like about godaddy: toooo much advertising, hard selling... agressive people I feel like being forced to spend!!!
Can someone confirm the reputation thing

Yes it's like PayPal kind of, everyone has an account.

It's a few dollars don't worry about the price.

Also just because they advertise a lot doesn't mean you shouldn't go with them be happy for them and help them get a better ROI :p

Use "OYH3" this will let you save $2 on a .com for godaddy. Also search specific thread for more similar offer.

Namecheap's control panel pretty user-friendly so you might want to take a look at that too.

But Godaddy's prices are pretty unbeatable at this point of time.
