Godaddy is pretty good. Been using it for a long time now. No complaints so far. I'll say go for it.

For people using GoDaddy i think this is an informative site www.nodaddy.com
Most of the people I know left GoDaddy for good
For 1&1 i heard various negative comments but i didn't use them so far

I voted for other and i had name.com in my mind

    1 - moniker.com
    2 - namecheap.com
    3 - name.com
    4 - godaddy.com (I don't trust them but sometimes using them)

Foget about 1&1, they suck. You obviously haven't heard about the horror stories that others have had.

    Godaddy is ok, but expensive.

Name.com is be best for price & reputation combined.

If you want the most trusted & secure in the domaining industry, then it's Moniker

I use from cheaper to expensive the following registrars:

    Name.com
    1&1
    Domainsite
    Dynadot
    MyDomain
    GoDaddy

I have a few other registrars with only one or two names on it, basically because lifetime-with-hosting domains or due to a particular extension not available or best priced there.

About 1&1 this is not true
I just cancelled two domains and have another in transfer process. It takes further reading but there is a way to do it for those who read the Knowledge base.

And for those who don't, as simple as visiting http://cancel.1and1.com and following the steps ;)

I've had bad experience with GoDaddy and I'm not claiming it sucks.

There are no perfect registrar service as not all people takes time to get familiar with a registrar's features.

After 3 years I still don't understand at all GoDaddy's CP navigation

I like dynadot and its support service is one of the fast and best when it comes to registrars, even though with Dynadot you cannnot create your own nameservers

1&1 is by far the worst Registrar on the net..

They take your domain if you host with them and quit the hosting by
saying you owe them for BW overage, plenty of complaints with ICANN.

With me I let 2 domains drop and they changed my account to auto-renew and when the old CC didn't go through I got a notice from a collection agency.
1&1 are the scum of the Domain Biz!

Knock, knock... if you didn't read my post above it's more likely you never read the knowledge base to learn on how to transfer or cancel your domain either since 1&1 does not impose you renew it or keep it with them and I knew it because I have canceled a hosting account, canceled domains and transfer some away.
