Godaddy nameservers for third party hosting

Is it possible to use Godaddy nameservers to point a godaddy registered domain to third party hosting for free? And how?

-> Can you simply use the default nameservers and change the A record

-> Or set up custom nameservers (for free) at Godaddy and point to other server IP

-> Or, should one use other nameservers to point domain to IP at third party hosting?

    Thanks.

    Very easy to do.
Simply select custom and enter the ns1.name and ns2.name. Click okay or confirm a couple of times and then wait until it resolves.

If it happens to be a private NS offered with some accounts than you have to enter the ip# and name in a different section. This usually only happens with reseller accounts and vps.
