For a dollar more at ResselerZoom(low cost hosting for up to 50 domains cost 4,95) you can host more domains on one hosting.Or even resell hosting to others.
GoDaddy has been solid for me so far. I am hosting 5 sites on one account, each with its own separate MySQL database and Wordpress installation.
I always rememeber how GoDaddy went and blocked googlebot from some of their shared hosting servers to save on bandwidth. Well, you can imagine what happened to those websites once GoDaddy blocked googlebot at the server level....
I remember that also. People with accounts with them were having problems and could not get any support for godaddy. This problem went on for a long time as you remember.
Would you like to share the set up details. I can do it with cPanel. I haven't figured out how to do it with the GD control panel. I would appreciate it.
Don't want to put words in morituri's mouth, but I think what he means is he has "five wordpress blogs all hosted on the same domain name", but since the blogs are for a different subject, he considers them 5 different "sites". If this is the case, you can just create new database for each blog and set them in their folders (or subdomains). But if I'm wrong, please correct me morituri.
GD is running an offer on their site for 10% off on 12-month hosting and 20% off on 24-month hosting. Plus I got an email on Friday for a 3-day sale of $10 off on any $40 order. My domains are reg'd with them so I guess that's why I got the special offer. They send emails with offers like that pretty often. So I transferred 3 sites over for hosting on their economy $3.95 plan service (5 gig space, 250 gig transfer) and ended up paying $2.75/month for each site. I had my site live on their servers within 2 hours.
I've never used their service first-hand, but I've installed some PHP scripts on GoDaddy hosting for several clients, and I did not like it one bit. The control panel is terrible, although I can't report about their uptime/support.
I bought their $3.95 plan with a domain name for a blog. Yesterday I bought another domain name but I can’t find how to host them all on the same hosting account. Do I have to get another hosting account “pay another $3.95â€. If that’s the case it sucks.
Sorry, I can't help you there. I have all my sites on separate hosting accounts (but within the same primary GoDaddy account). I suggest you write directly to GoDaddy support. They've always been very fast at responding to my inquiries. -- RatDog
Thanks I guess that’s what I’ll have to do. Anyway can anyone tell me what section of DP is for discussing hosting topics?
I didn't like Godaddy hosting since they didn't have a good cpanel at the time I used them. I don't know if they changed since. I like hosting companies that you can install things very easily with. I had a friend once say if a restaurant is known for it's steaks don't buy their Chinese food they have on the menu buy their steaks. It's like going to IHOP and buying their steak dinner IHOP is known for their pancakes not their steak. Godaddy is known for their domains not their hosting. This is just my opinion.
