I am currently using the 6.95/month plan from Godaddy and I am kind of happy with their service. Recently I have the chance to try hostgator for $0.1/month (only the first month) and I realized that their service is not bad at all. The best part is that Hostgator even allows you to use awstat on their server. Questions: 1) What is the difference between reseller plan ($24.95) and regular baby plan ($9.95)?? It seems to me that you got more bandwidth and storage page on regular plan than reseller plan. Why is that? 2) Resellerzoon is offering a reseller plan for only $4.95 a month. Anyone tried it before? Any opinion would be appreciate. Thx
My understanding is that reseller plan will allow you to have unlimited domains + the WHM while the baby plan only has cPanel.
Thx! But it seems that you can also host unlimited domain on baby plan. So the only difference between reseller and baby plan is that reseller plan allow you to "sell" your unused space to other webmasters (because of the WHM). Am I correct?
Hostgator is wonderful, especially compared to Godaddy's hosting. Definitely worth the move. If you're not planning to resell the space, I'd say go with the Baby plan.
With hostgator you will have fewer restrictions on the server side scripting you can do for your website. You will also be able to modify your site(s) .htaccess file(s) which Godaddy does not allow typically.
Yes, absolutely With the reseller account, you can sell and create customized plans for your customers and they can log in like what you do in the hatching / baby plan.
The main difference between the regular hosting plan and the reseller hosting plan is that with the regular plan you have all your sites hosted on the same account (ie, you can manage them all from the same panel) while with the reseller plan you can create a different account for every website and distribute your resources (bandwidth, disk space) amongst those accounts (this is very useful if you plan to sell a website in the future as there is no need to change nameservers/hosts, you just give the hosting account to the buyer).
