Whats the deal with buying expired domains from Godaddy? I paid the $5 to get in the auctions then I bid on a few and win. One had a forged Page rank and the other when I tried to buy it they were carging me double. I won the bid for $10 but when I go to pay there charging me $20. Do they charge another fee on top of the $5 a year to get into the auctions? I hope not cause that is BS if they do and I will not ever buy another domain from them. Yes, I'm pissed and venting... But still would like to know if thats how it works at Godaddy.

    Thanks in advance.

First 4.99 is what yoy pay for a year in the auctions. Then the 5 bucks (or how high the bid on the domain is at) is the bid you place on the domain. The other 10-15 bucks (depending if you buy domain privacy or not) is what you pay to have the domain registered for another year. So altogehter its

    • 1 Time Fee Of 4.99 Per Year For Auctions
    • X Bucks For Bidding
    • 10-15 Bucks To Register The Domain For ANother Year

Ya, the ten bucks for bidding is BS!! Especially after you already pay to be able to use the/view the auction. Oh well, what can you do? Everyone is trying to get rich these days so I guess Godaddy is gonna jump on the bandwagon too. It's too bad cause now I wont buy any of them and I wont renew the $5 for next year(not that they care). Yahoo pulled some similar shit and I took 3 hosting accounts and 43 domains elsewhere. If godaddy is going to start this crap like Yahoo and register.com I guess I'll have to find another registrar again. Thanks for the input

I like GoDaddy, IMO it's the best registrar, but they lack in all other areas. Stick to Sedo or some other auction site that doesn't force a fee just to look at the auction. ;)
