Godaddy Domains ($1.99)

Im really new to the domains bussines. I want to create a forum, I already signed up for a godaddy account and the only think i need now is a domain.
I was think about yahoo domains since they are like $3 bucks a year, but I want to have the "privacy option", yahoo charges like 7 bucks or something each year to hide your information.
Go daddy sells domains cheaper, $1.99 for new customers, that means that I'm suppose to get a domain for $1.99, now that I have created my godaddy account, where do i register the domain for $1.99?? or is it too late? did i have to register the domain first? please help. give me a link or something i cant find it anywhere.

    https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/registrar/search.asp?se=+&ci=235

that is the link to register a domain but i dont see the $1.99 offer.

    Whats wrong?

The deal is with any new non domain purchase, otherwise they are 8.95 like always.

    Always read the fine print.

You had to buy another non-domain product to get the $1.99 pricing. Godaddy privacy protection isn't free.

Registerfly offer free privacy, but their domain prices vary.

godaddys privacy protection is a non domain product, so if you get domain+privacy protection, you still get your discounted domains at 1.99

I f. it up, but I never read "in the same receipt". I'm going to buy the domain anyways...

so if anyone is about to sign up for webhosting/domain service with godaddy, remember in order to get your domain for 1.99 you must purchase it with the webhosting at the same time.

    :(

also, use promotional codes, you can save 1 or 2 or more $

    good luck.

Netfirms - But renewals don't cost that. And it has several other limitations...
You can't just account the first year. It can be expensive in the following ones...

I think it's $9.95. I can't find it at their site, and I don't think it's a good practice to hide your renewal rates at a place very difficult to find. I like things plain, clear and simple...

NetFirms renewals are $9.95 and it looks like only 1 name per account.

"You can register one $4.95 domain name per account, and up to five per billing address."

But you can only register (1) domain at $4.95 - per account. So you either have to create multiple accounts or have multiple addresses. To get the $1 commision, you must get to a minimum of $100 in commission before you will ever get paid, so the $1 discount doesn't apply unless you get a lot of other people to sign up under your affiliate link.

Be careful with your domains, if they are important to you. Price isn't everything...
