I have had a similar issue with godaddy. I am in the process of moving all my names with them away as they come up for renewal.

Still looking for a registrar I really like though. Maybe I will need to open one to do that.

Enom is my registrar of choice. I have a $6.95 resellers account, so all my top level names only cost me $6.95. Their support is top notch, email response within an hour in most cases. You can find $6.95 reseller accounts listed on ebay pretty cheap. If you have lots of domains or plan to, you can't beat 'em.

I agree! I love the 8.95 domain register and Free Forwarding! Too bad they still don't have an 800 #!

They are really good indeed. They even refund me 2 backorders i made without knowing 100% the purpose of backordering.

The only thing i complaint about is their web interface, is slow and complicated.

I've been slowly migrating all of my domains over to GD from what I thought was another good, reputable registrar.

I love doing the transfer as they automatically add a year to the registration; so, as my domains near expiration, I move on over.

I'm impressed with their CP and ease of use and functionality.

Also, you have to out weigh your costs here. It is worth the $14.95/yr through dotster to click and be done, or to go through 1/2 price, and have to click a couple more mouse clicks and do a little reading. I would rather pay the 1/2 price. If you have 20 - 40 domains, it gets costly at $14.95 ea.

I found this thread, and it gets another bump.

I've just spent some time reviewing the help files and the process for transferring away is so well hidden I can't find it.

My main complaint is that last time I used GoDaddy I couldn't get their paypal interface to work and when I tried to "change my mind" and go for straight credit it wouldn't let me.

I have another, slightly cheaper, registrar in mind and will slowly move all my domains to a single location (unless www.dotster.com hook me in with another of their 50c happy hours)

If anyone can point me in the right direction for transferring away I'd be grateful :)

I have been trying for more than a month to transfer a domain away from Godaddy. They have not responded to over a dozen emails and when I call they just tell me to go to the control panel. I can not find anything on the control panel that will give me the authorization code to transfer. I don't like their hosting and I despise their refusal to answer emails.

Yehoshua: The GD website uses spunky Javascript buttons.

The button to get the authorization code might become invisible under certain browsers. If you're using the standard compliant Firefox or Seamonkey browsers, try using IE or Opera instead.

You could also try dragging your mouse over the page to find the shadow of the funky "Send" button.

    Good luck.

It doesn't cost anything to transfer domains, right?

Yes Godaddy answers their phone 24 hours a day.

I can't even get my phone company in the evening but I can get Godaddy at 3:00am in the morning. That ROCKS !!
