GoDaddy domain expiration problem

    Hi,

I've been following a great domain for some time and it just expired. When I visit the site it gives me "NOTICE: This domain name expired on 02/08/2012 and is pending renewal or deletion.". However when I check it's expiration date it says it expires only next year. The page is here for at least 2 days. What is the problem? Is GoDaddy going to renew the domain and sell it or what? Can you tell me a good domain snap service? GoDaddy posts an auction if they successfully snap the domain so that's out of option, what is the second best service?

    Best regards,
    Cz. Ervin

Especially if this is a .com, the expired domain name is auto-renewed by the Registry for a year and its registrar billed for that. However, the registrar can request
that they be refunded and the name deleted if done within 45 days after that.

In essence, the registrar "renewed" that name while waiting for payment from its actual owner. Their website has an article somewhere how they deal with expired
    names.
