Godaddy Domain Auction Question

    Hi guys,

I have recently started taking part in the Godady auctions. The first time I won a few auctions last night, I found an added re-registration fee added to the domains along with my winning bid price.

Is that common ? Or is there any way to avoid that ? Why would I be paying for re-registration if I am going to resell the domain anyways !

    Let me know please.

    Regards

I believe part of winning the auction is a "transfer" of the domain to your account which is billed as a re-registration. Seems like just a way for them to make more money... which I guess it is.

That shouldn't be normal, but at godaddy it is.
So you pay the price of the auction you won + renewal fee + 20-25% of auction price and renewal fee.
Ex. you won a domain for $10 and its renewal fee is also $10, the total amount you have to pay is $25

When you win domains at a higher price that tax fee of 20-25% increases the total price a lot :p

Yeah It's common, If you won a expire domain at Godaddy Auction, you should pay the price of the auction you won + 1 year renewal fees.

The tax fee can be a killer when you purchase a domain for some decent money. I just found out the hard way:(
