    I am moving my website to a hosting company that doesn't have their name servers.As i have my domains on godaddy i would like to create custom name servers for my domain

    ns1.mydomain.com
    ns2.mydomain.com

    In the steps i have read on the web to create custom name-servers on godaddy
    (forums.dathorn.com/showthread.php?t=24)

    I don't understand the IP address part

    how do i get the IP address..? is it the ip i get when i ping the URL?..They explain some welcome e-mail i don't understand.

    Login to your GoDaddy.com account located at http://www.godaddy.com

    Under the "Domains Names" menu go to "Manage Domains"

    Select the Domain name you wish to add name servers for and click the "Domain Host Summary" at the bottom right of the page.

    Insert the first name server information. For host you would enter something like "ns1" and for IP address you would enter the primary nameserver IP.
    You can get the name server IP addresses from your welcome email. If you no longer have this email please submit a supprt ticket to have it re-sent.

    Then Click "Add New Host".

    Now enter the secondary name server information. Some like "ns2" and the secondary name server IP.

    Click "Add New Host"

    Finally, Click the "Save Changes" button.

    you may need to allow few hours for this to come into the effect depending upon your location.
    =============
    You can obtain the IP addresses of the DNS servers from your hosting company.
