Will also chime in to say I've been happy with GoDaddy.com -- and I usually find discount codes on other sites to help keep the cost down. Suits me fine so far without hunting around for another .com registry. Haven't ever dealt with name.com though.
Absolutely your mistake.. Don't ever call any provider poor, Ads on TV doesn't means that a product is good. I will recommend you to read the ending portion of this post. Very diplomatic answer my friend. Me too own the same. But your view about the customer's preference by different company is right. I'm completely agree with. Very frank answers.. Great.. I think you are experienced and you have great idea about these companies.. I'm also a fan of DirectI. The only thing they provide not that much better CP but it doesn't matter for your hosting company, as you must be using APIs. Now the last and the most important thing I want to tell is GoDaddy is really good if you are not going to have a famous site which shares informations from different users and all that. I think all of us know LINUX and if yes some of us must know the very useful program NMAP and a few of us know about the developer and owner of NMAP Gordon Lyon (AKA Fyodor). He is a hacker(good one) and he is the person who has experienced what GoDaddy can do.. Visit his story and some other stories at www.NoDaddy.com , And post what you feel here. Good Luck
All of my domains are currently with GoDaddy but lately I keep hearing that namecheap.com should be used because GoDaddy is heavy handed about some things. I have a bid in on a domain registered with name.com so if I win I will be checking to see if they might be better than GoDaddy. namecheap.com seems to be the favorite at the Warrior Forum though. *none* as per the feedbacks available on various forums about both of them - negative feedbacks are more than the positive comments. Good luck. DAMnX.us
GD is here because they risked millions for superbowl ads and marketing I thank him for this because he promotes domain names but the quality of services is not equal to his market share. He focus newcomers, endusers and less resellers, domainers.... As i said before many resellers have an account there (me too) because it's easier to push the name when you sell it, they have the tdnam aftermarket..... BUT i don't think he's a good registrar at all Anything with such great market power is dangerous to start enforce his own rules and act as he wants (check www.nodaddy.com as indianets said before) I certainly prefer name.com (same company as domainsite.com) that i can even speak with the owner directly. Small registrars are better for me for many years now I'm not the XXXX-12934234 support ticket for them To the question of this forum topic : NAME.com without doubt
Never heard of name.com till now. I been with godaddy for a while, I think I will transfer all my domain renewals to name.com.
That is exactly why GD has popularity, every knows GD but not the others and of course that's why he got this market share (which of course i don't blame him for this)
