Of all the affiliate programs I've ever earned money off of, Godaddy.com seems to be the BEST. If you know of any other good ones please let me know.

What do you use them for?

I use HostICan for hosting, works pretty fine :).

The $1.99 domain names seems to be attracting a lot of attention. Their hosting is also great because you don't have long term contracts and get a lot more space than you need.

I don't know who told you that because they have banners that are specifically made to promote their $1.99 domain names.

Godaddy.com is the most well-known though. They are one of the few that actually advertises on national tv. Many people that have never setup a website before will trust them because of this.

    Sounds good!

I'm moving my sites from a crappy webhost (Lunar Pages) to GoDaddy too.

What's up with their website? It doesn't looking like the type of website that a typical hosting company would use.

Don't buy your domains through GoDaddy !! They will steal your Domain names !! Then register them themselves.

yeah they have a tendency to do that I hear. I may be wrong, but I think they employ an overseas call center and the staff of the call center scoop up all the good names they can.

Don't know much about their hosting, but MANY MANY people I know had their domain stolen by GO Daddy. one even got a message saying that they would give back the Domain for $200.

pretty crappy way to do business.

Wow! That's quite a story!! Unless I see it on the news, I will just take it as rumors. They were probably started by companies that are competing against Godaddy.com as an attempt to ruin their reputation.

its not a story and I have no interest in Go daddys reputation one way or another. Its fact what has happened to a friend of mine. I will get him to come here and post here with all the details.

I dont believe it is the official Go Daddy organization that engages in organized domain stealing, it is the contract overseas (Indian) workers that staff their call center and found a way to make more than a few ruppees an hour and Go Daddy has just never bothered to do anything about it which makes them guilty by proxy.

How do you know it wasn't a hacker who obtained his login information?

My only GD story is that I searched for a domain on GD and it was available, but then I went back the next day and it was taken by some company. Same thing happened to another person on DP, same company regged the domain. They sell their searches to a company who buys the searched for domains.

I love GD, and I love their affiliate program - 20%. I have made about $50 from it.

Some clown gave me a red because I said I was going to GoDaddy.

    What an IDIOT!

I'm sorry to hear about the "domain stealing". That is unacceptable and GoDaddy should not allow it. Another reason not to outsource...

That story is kind off odd as well. Why would anyone want to purchase a search for domains from Godaddy? Unless of course it's searches that ended in a domain that was available.
