I was asking the same question last night in the forum, but then I decided to go for name.com for the cheaper prices. But for name.com right, once you bought it, its not refundable unlike godaddy.com whereby you can cancel the domain name within the first 5 days of purchase. Hope this helps you. :D

Find web hosting company. As my experience says many people do prefer keep domains and web hosting in different places.

If you want the hosting service, then you should go to GoDaddy due to their high configuration fast servers. Name.com is good, reliable and cheap if you want to register domains.

I have over 300 domains with godaddy and I have not had any problems. I also like how the domains propagate with godaddy very fast unlike some companies I have actually waited 24 hours!

I would say go with GoDaddy if given those two choices to register your domains. Cheaper is not always better. I prefer Namecheap.com for all my domains. They are easy to use and they have great support.

Now if you are talking about web hosting which I am not sure by the way you wrote the post. I would never host in the same place as you have the domain registered. There are many better web hosting companies than the two you mentioned.

If you find one of Daddy's resellers who sets the pricing at the lowest they're allowed, you get the best of both worlds, since they let resellers set pricing even lower than their own. (since they get the biggest cut anyway)

I personally use GoDaddy for 99% of my domains... but im testing other places as well. What it really comes down to is testing the waters for your self and see what company makes you the most satisfied with the services they offer.

If I had to choose between GoDaddy and Name.com, I'd choose GoDaddy.

Name.com's customer support is poor, and it's website sometimes goes down for no reason.

One of the high execs at GoDaddy was just caught bidding auctions up against his own customers.

hostgator.com is pretty good... only had minor problems but for the most part it's been a good experience.
