    Hi D.P Experts

I need suggestion on how the registration of new gtld work. Today, i pre-registered a .reviews domain and they charged me $1300 of which around $200 is non-refundable.
The issue is that they are still taking new applications for that particular domain and it will be on auction after general availability.
Does it mean the payment of $1300 is not refundable if i do not bid further.

Any help or suggestion will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

If it's the same as .asia domains a while back, then you've effectively "bid" for the domain. If others outbid you, you'll get it back. If you win the bid, you'll get the domain for the price you've paid.

Read the small print, so that you don't pay $1300 _every_ year!

not at all. The domain which i pre-registered is really a premium one but i didn't know godaddy is going to take unlimited application for same domain and then put into bidding war in end.

A premium keyword on a crap extension is still crap. These new extensions are just a money grab.

lol. You going to try to flip it or develop it? $1300 is a lot to invest in a new one if your going for a quick resale.

Indeed, you will need to sell it for six figures to reach significant IRR.
