GoDaddy Backorders

I have backordered a couple of domains in godaddy..
my question is, are they really efficient in backordering? Anyone had success with godaddy backorders?
Whts their charges apart from the backordering credit charge?

The only way one generally wins a GoDaddy backorder if is no one else backorders it as well. Basically put, if you backorder a domain using GoDaddy and someone else uses either Pool.com or Snapnames.com , you will never win against them. GoDaddy backorder is more hype than substance.

Of course, if the domain name is obscure enough and you are sure no one else will be backordering it, may as well use GoDaddy.

 

I have had some success backordering with Godaddy (much to my surprise I might add). I can't recall if I had to pay reg fee after it was placed into my account or whether it was included in the price. :/

 

Godaddy has a decent success rate provided the names are not previously registered with network solutions or enom. In that case snapnames and pool are better.

You do not have any extra charge to pay for. In case your name is not backordered successfully the amount will be credited to your godaddy account for a future backorder. This credit is valid for a year. You do not get a refund in this case.

 

GoDaddy backorder is worthless. Basically, they grab the domain for you if noone bids on it over at TDNAM. Also, it draws attention to it because it places the bid for you right away of $10.00, so it shows up in the "domains with bids" lists.

If you want to backorder something at GoDaddy, wait until it shows at TDNAM and place a watch on it. Then wait until the final day and place your max bid. I usually do so within the last hour leading up to the completition date/time and it works pretty well.

The other problem with GoDaddy backorder is they keep the money up front, then give you credit on a future backorder. Since backorder is worthless, it can sometimes be difficult to use them up.

Network solutions and enom pre-release domains go to namejet. NOT snapnames or pool.

The credit is not valid for a year only. It never expires.

 

Basically if your domain name makes it to a point where you can obtain it through godaddy.com backorder it is 99.9% worthless as is.

 

i tried, but no great success.. now i just buy domains after market. here is good one resource... http://www.prtag.com some of them with PR already.. plus its aged...

 

godaddy never have sucessfully backordered a domain to me..

Not necessarily. If GoDaddy owned the domain, TDNAM will have first crack at it, so you'll want to backorder it there.

As mentioned above, it depends on the registrar. eNom goes to Namejet, etc.

Here is a list I've put together, though I'm sure some registrars are missing:

NameJet - Network Solutions, eNom, BulkRegister, ClubDrop
Pool - NameScout, DotAsia
SnapNames - Register.com, Moniker.com, Answerable.com, MyDomain.com, Dotster.com, DotRegister.com
TDNAM - GoDaddy, WildWestDomains

Go with Namejet, Pool & Snapnames.
You'll need deep pockets to get anything worthwhile.
GD can work if domain is worthless.

 

Godaddy is good if you let the backorder ride for a few days after the unsuccessful capture (which is usually the case) . Godaddy will continue to try to capture the name and if the register doesn't keep the name for some reason, Godaddy will get it.

 

well friend i suggest you to go with snapnames to backorder a domain

 

As Godaddy is the no.1 hosting provider, but since they are getting good customers , day by day lossing thier efficiency.

 

As my websites hosted on Godaddy still i really would like to say, godaddy is now worst service provider. and through file manager it is not allow to do excact change, and creates errors on the page.
