GoDaddy Backorders - Anyone been successful lately?

I know Snapnames and Namejet have a higher success rate, but sometimes there are domains I would like to have, but not really willing to fork out the $69 minimum for them.. so GD backordering becomes an option, but haven't done one in years and unsure if its even worth it nowadays.

Has anyone successfully backordered a name using GoDaddy Backorders recently? Considering you have to pre-pay I don't really want to do it if there is zero chance of getting the domain name. I know you can transfer the credit to another domain, but if its just going to be a viscous cycle that's irrelevant.

Back ordering services is just another way for domain companies to get an extra buck. Its non refundable and a big waste of money. I would try whois.net to see if any contact info is available.

Well back in the day GD backorders used to get some domains, but with the introduction of drop services with more resources, I think now you are just wasting your time.

I think its just a waste of money. Bigger chance and probably cheaper is to get domain by contacting domain owner, then using back ordering. If GD would allow to see how many backortders for selected domain then maybe it was good option otherwise there can be 1000's of backorders for single better domain and chance to get it using backordes is very low.
