Dear DP Experts, I would like to give 5% discount if anybody goes through my website links(godaddy links) to register new domain or hosting. Is this fine way to advertise ? Is there any problems with this approach ? Please let me know.
The only issue is whether you are getting enough traffic to your website to make it work. You can make the greatest promotion ever but if nobody sees it then it's wasted. Do you have the traffic?
Affiliate marketing is a common way to earn money. You need visitors who are interested to buy and make a sale. That is all. The better your target audience is (meaning that if you want to sell domains then your page should be about domains, webs, servers, .. rather than cat food), the higher the conversion rate will be and the less traffic you need.
It is a fine way to advertise, it is called affiliate marketing, but you need targeted traffic to your website and to obtain traffic you need to do SEO/SEM for your website to obtain ranking.
