Godaddy asking a copy for license ID/passport? Should I give it to them?

Godaddy is asking for a copy of license ID/passport, should I give it them, even though, the exact info does not match the gift card I purchased with (please see below).

what happened was I accidently misspelled a domain name, then got a refund after I called them and then they asked me for a copy of Id just because of that. But I didn't give them the first time around since I thought they might forget it but with 2 days they also refunded all my other domain purchase that I purchased with the other domain, so this time I must provide them with the ID copy.

But THE PROBLEM IS the street address is different then i have on my ID (same zip code, city and state) and I did put the whole correct spelling for my name (just didn't put one alphabet in the middle for first and last name but you can tell easily, without a second, that not putting one alphabet does not matter).

I registered as personal information not business information and registered just 4-6 days ago.

SO should I send them the copy of ID and hope for the best or DOES ANYONE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE and can tell me what I can do about it: just let it go and registere with another account and another credit card (that will take a month since the domain won't be availabe after a month)?

Also, I have more accounts with similar details. So, do you think they can find out my other account and cancel them as well (they were registered within a month) if i send them the copy of ID?

So please help me about what I should do!

This is urgent, since I do not want to lose all my 10 accounts (with 50 domain names) I created with godaddy with all the same info!:

I am not worry about the address but the incorrect spelling of the first and last name because both are missing one alphabet in each of them! For example, the name Bobby is missing the middle alphabet B, and the last name, rodriguez is missing the alphabet E.

Therefore, I am worried that because of the incorrect spelling, they will find out I didn't really use a credit card, but a gift card. In addition, they won't unblock my account, and cancel everything!!! So, If anyone had an experience like this, please let me know how should I carry this out!

    PLEASE HELP ME OUT!

I sent them my driver license by fax. No problem.
One of my friends don't want to send his and they shut down his account but reactivate after sent the ID.

Kind of protection for them when you buy a lot of domains in the same time/short period of time, I guess.

It doesn't matter what you purchase with, so long as the funds are actually there. They're not going to care that you used a credit card over a gift card etc., trust me.

well what if i just photoshop the ID and make it spell in the same way I have it on godaddy. That way, they won't know it is missing one alphabet on the first name and last name. However, if I do that, do you think they can possibly know it is fake, just by looking up the ID # on a government based software (that checks ID's # to see if they are real and not fake)?

forging a drivers license is a felony i believe. not a good idea, even on the internet most likely lol i mean it is for some sort of business purpose so i would think you can get in trouble for that.
just explain the situation to them and be straight, i had wrong address on my whois info before with them and sent them the license and told them i just had it like that because of privacy issues or something, it was nothing! :) good luck

Lol. You sure make a simple thing such as registering domains seem shady as all hell. You're talking about committing forgery and fraud. I'm not sure why you'd have 10 accounts and use GD gift cards to pay for them all, but I'm thinking it has something to do with BUYCOM99 or similar offers that were limited to 1 use per account. Your best bet is to just send them your ID and hope for the best, because I'm betting if they shut your accounts down, it most likely won't be because your name is slightly different than your ID.

Never mind! I cancelled the account and will just buy the domain from some where else, since I am not in a rush to keep it and no one else will buy the domain name. Thanks for all your help regarding this situation!
