I'm getting tired of Godaddy and their stupid television ads. They try to nickel and dime the average user for everything they can get. Their interface is spammy insomuch that my hotmail account banned emails coming from them so I couldn't transfer domains. Use Moniker. Ditch Godaddy
There is no problem if you have simple html pages but it's not suitable for custom programming pages.
^ What he said 'Best in breed' is the last way I would describe GoDaddy's interface. So far their service and pricing have been fair however.
pros: cheap domains & there are loads of GoDaddy coupons on the net cons: they want to upsell you a load of stuff on the back end of the domain sale hosting is slow :/
I've only had one experience with customer support. I had a FastCGI problem, I emailed and it was literally fixed within an hour. I was shocked. May have been a slow day for them though.
I must admit I simple hate being sold so overtly to. When buying a domain it's a real struggle to just buy the domain and avoid all their other "services".
yea they do offer quite alot of other services and i really feel sorry for thoose who dont know what they all do and it says its recomended so they just buy everything you can with the domains and get scamed a few hundred for people who didnt even know what they do
Yes, Super slow control panel. That is the reason I switched to Bluehost. I still have 3 hosting accounts with GD though. My concern is when I move to my home country where the connection is slow that will make up the 5 star super slow connection with GD. I am surprised that the biggest web hosting company in the world has the worst, ad-ridden interface. But I like the the price, the cheapest.
I've never had any problems with GoDaddy. I buy domains there with coupons. Love the owner's video blog on business best practices and domaining as well. Its easy enough for me to click "no" or "next" on the attempts at selling other services, but don't find it a big deal. I have too many online accounts as it is so keep myself limited to GoDaddy or Namecheap for buying. cheers, James
yea there are so many coupon on the net its not funny I got one for free registration once FTW if anyone has any coupon codes please share
Have you checked the Godaddy thread that is a sticky in the vouchers section? It usually has some good codes in it.
I'm surprised more people aren't turned off by GoDaddy's cross selling techniques. It turned me off so much that I now use another domain registration company (and actually pay more to use it). Speaking of upselling tips, Jim Domanski published a really nifty checklist offer these free upselling selling techniques...
