You seem to be pulling a gworld and reading just a sentence from everyones posts. But like it was said before, you aren't looking for understanding you are trying to find something to bash. Sorry your life has become one of closed mind and mean spirit.

Are you claiming that accepting excuses and lies is understanding and telling the truth is bashing something?

All you're trying to say is that context is not important in figuring out what God is saying through the Bible. I don't know of any Christian who thinks you can just pull any random verse out of the Bible and use it as an excuse for something without knowing at a minimum #1: The context of the entire story of the Bible, #2: The context of that specific story and it's human author, and #3: The way present day customs related to the story compare to Bible time customs related to the story.

There are other verses in the Bible that imply cutting a baby in half is a reasonable way to solve custody disputes (without context), then there's "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", but these are just meant as object lessons, obviously if you read the entire Bible the overall message is "Love thy neighbor as thyself".

My favorite example that would make your theory of "present day context is irrelevant" would be the verse of Jesus' own words saying "Give unto Ceaser what is Ceaser's". Do you think that he said that so that someone in 2007 would read it and go pay their taxes to the nearest ancestor of Ceaser they could find, instead of paying taxes to their current government? Without "present day customs vs. Bible times customs context" I guess that's how you could take it, but I think that one's obvious enough even for you not to deny.

Don't fight with me, I always said that both Bible and Koran are old books and while these had a value in their time, in today's world, it should be just looked at as historical documents.
Debunk is the one who was always against looking at historical situation and the context, anytime that there was discussions about Islam and Koran. I find it very hypocritical to use the same logic that he was previously blaming the Muslims for using. ;) :D

    Telling lies again?

you might want to go back over my posts.

Actually anyone who thinks Gworld has any integrity should go over my last posts and see who says what. Also, while you are at it, look at gworlds posts to see where he stands.

We all know who and what gworld supports and who is immune from his tirades. It is funny to watch him pretend, though :)

Please don't give credit to where there is none due.

I have him on ignore, since he is what they call a troll from my understanding. He posts normally to try to get someone mad. He has now gone as far as lying about anyone who doesn't agree, with proof being able to be found easily.

I just have a bad habit of clicking the "read post" even though he and a couple of others are on ignore.
