GoCheapGo.com - A Travel Deals Website

Please check out my company's newly relaunched website, GoCheapGo.com. It's basically a sortable list of airline deals directly from the airline companies themselves. I've been able to find some really good deals, and am pretty excited about the site. However, since I helped create it, my perspective on how useful GoCheapGo is, is kind of skewed. Please take a look at the site, play around with its interface (we also have a newsletter if people are interested), and tell me what you think. It's a simple website, but it can do some pretty neat things.

    Thanks!

    - Jimmy

The logo design is really nice, so is the color scheme. I would fix the top tables (make them wider) so they can align perfectly with the main table below. Also, try opening the site on IE, it goes a bit too wide.

8everything - Thanks for the IE comment, I usually view everything in Firefox so the formatting can be a little off sometimes. Can you tell me what exactly looks "wide" in IE? I viewed the site in both browsers and the formatting is approximately the same.

Zerosleep - Thanks for checking the site out. It's designed to be viewable in an 800x600 window, so we tried to keep everything compact.

I would like to make the two description tables wider to match the bottom table as well. I'll let the developer know your suggestions.

Also, did you find the user interface was alright? Were there any glitches or things that weren't intuitive? Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

I would suggesting making your search box more prominent and move it further up the page. you want to drive users direct to content. try creating blocks on the left and right that will take users directly to deals.

Also having 'Sorry, no deals found using the current criteria.' displayed on the home page makes it look like the site is empty

Take a look at these 2 sites I have done they might help with ideas

    www.questtravel.com
    www.australiatravelmarket.com

    Logo is great btw

iamsgf - Thanks for the advice! Good point about the "Sorry, no deals...." I brought that issue up with my designer, so we're going to try and fix that. It seems really non-intuitive to select a city and then select another city, only to find no results come up.

The GoCheapGo site's style is supposed to be Google-like simple, so I'm not sure how much more information we're going to put on the page. I agree that we have a lot of white space that could be utilized. However, we don't want to have the usual clutter that most travel sites have.

And yeah... we like our logo, too! :)

    TimUkaj - Thanks!

It may be a good idea to use the bright tropical green color instead of the black one on your logo, because the combination of the black and the orange colors may cause the danger emotions, while the combination of the bright green and the orange colors would cause safety emotions for the travelers, and the black text on the orange background may be changed to the white one in the other places.
