I think that his is a great idea. I think the best way to do this is get a big following and then get them all to tweet #smartUSAjob to president Obama. Either way you just got a follow from me @PictCars

I agree completely, if i can get a following and even a few celebs in the mix it can be done. you have a follower yourself Dillon.

 

Why don't you set a more realistic goal, like sleeping with Jessica Alba or something?

 

I'd prefer Eva Longoria, but Jessica is no slouch.
Perhaps you should write a blog post of how rediculous my goal is and then link to here help me build some momentum you seem pretty awesome at SEO and getting to the first page of google.

80 followers (but I had to trim the fat and drop 12 people today for DM'ing me with promises of sex, it was a nice gesture of them sending me their photos wearing nothing more then a toe ring in a very provocative position but I'm not buying it.)

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but is the extent of your plan that you're going to get Barack Obama to tweet about your site, and you will achieve this by getting everyone talking about it?

If you're going to aim so high at least formulate a proper plan of how you're going to do it.

 

Wait for him to visit your town (or somewhere nearby), then get photographed in the background of him shaking hands with someone important... with a placard or t-shirt with the website address on it. And cross your fingers someone in his entourage likes the photo enough that they tweet it.

Easy.

 

Eddie your pretty much nailed it on the head as to the end goal but this experiment is more about how I can build a brand from scratch using free venues like twitter etc.....

I have many ideas that I will use during this to get more followers and ultimately more exposure for my cause which is people like us who run small businesses. It is premature for me to use some of these ideas at this stage.

Tiero's idea is exactly why I started this thread. I think bouncing back ideas with fellow Internet marketers will help all of us to get tons of exposure for free.

For example:
Years ago I got tickets behind the bench to a NHL game in my city. I know from being a hockey fan that every time there was a penalty the producer of the show would always switch cameras to get the coaches reaction. I simply held up a sign with my website on it ( it was for a local contractors site)
I received thousands of legit hits from my target audience in the week that followed and received more hits daily from then on. It was a successful experiment.

These are the types of ideas that cost little and can get tons of exposure is basically what this is all about.

Sounds like a fun goal to achieve. One question, what are the frown faces near the top and bottom for?
Also I have adblock and the site loads with it and without it. I thought maybe the frowns were there with adblock on but they are there with or without.

Thanks for reminding me of that. I noticed that a while back and forgot to change it. The reason you see it is because its an image that I put there. I would hope adblock doesn't block images with no link attached to it.

Maybe you should try something easier than that. I'm not sure that Obama will tweet on page that have couple of hundreds followers. But I wish you luck anyway.

If you want 'busiest man' , no it sure why you think so, will tweet about your site, tweet to him and ask him to do so. I'm doubt so,some here can arrange that.
The question why to mention your website and not others? Mentioning yours will raise question why yours.
There are plenty other bigger players in online jobs postings, why yours is so special?
Anyways, if you looking to get mention on twitter, do it on twitter, not on DP.
