This demonstrates inherent flaw in off-page SEO. Notice how "Miserable Failure" appears nowhere in the title, description, meta keywords, content or url. Shouldn't the search engines stipulate that the phrase, or part of the phrase, must be PRESENT in order to rank for that phrase. Wouldn't that prevent Google Bombing?
Well, Google already has adapted its algo and it is getting better in determining how to stop the Googlebomb techniques used for jump starting the websites using the same anchors actually. Maybe Yahoo is still needing the assistance from Google guys.
it is the same.. i think they are very common these dayz.. there were some other words/phrases also.. like foolish was showing in google -> George Bush, later it was cleared off by the search engine.
Google has developed an anti-bomb algo a couple of years ago. They had to use it recently to eliminate Obama-bomb. Oh, well if people used their energy to create not to destruct, the world would be a better place...
I pity Obama, he rids the world of an evil named Bush and this is how the web treats him? How rude....
Who cares, as if anyone uses Yahoo search now a days. And you guys talk as if you never heard of the Google bomb linking Bush and miserable failure.
I am aware that this is old news. That's not the point. The point is that Google Bombing still works... and shouldn't... moreover, that it now works on Yahoo as well (yahoo didn't always place such value on backlinks).
True, Google bombing still works. But it's not so easy to eliminate it. For example, do a Google search for the phrase click here. The #1 result will be a link to the quite legitimate and important Adobe Reader download home page. But there is not a single occurrence of the words click here on that Adobe web page. Adobe is getting the SERPs benefit of the thousands (millions?) of "click here" links from all over the internet that are helping people find the important Adobe Reader download site. It would be difficult for an algorithm to differentiate between the silly "miserable failure" Google bombs and the completely legitimate Adobe Reader situation I described above.
it comes from the anchor text and text on pages that ur sites linked to by.. it doesnt have to be on ur page if enough people link to you, im guessing millions of sites have linked to adobe software with the anchor text (click here). but anyway its funny when they do it to a president lol too funny..
And in this case, Yahoo Bombing... I have a feeling that the guys behind this are the search engines themselves..... And to whoever thought my previous post was a political thought.....it wasn't........
