I also prefer Namecheap as I've heard many bad stories about Godaddy so I am just being cautious. However, I've never had problems with Godaddy myself. It's individual experience really, while some people might just have awful experience others will be totally satisfied.
I use Godaddy for my domains. Never had a problem with them yet. Easy site to navigate, and great customer service.
There are many Domain Registrars available in the market, so you need to check all of them and choose the best one for your budget and needs.
Godaddy is cheap to buy but It interface is slow but best registrar to buy domains are Name and Namecheap
I always have used GoDaddy, mainly because they have coupons all the time.... Note: do not buy anythign without a coupon or sale on GoDaddy, you will over pay, but it is very very easy to find codes even by google
I have actually had pretty good luck with Godaddy and I often use their coupons so that I can get domains for cheap.
I like godaddy, but I heard that if you are over the payment due day they'll close your account. This is unheard of with most of the other ones. On the other hand they make sure they send a lot of reminders, months before the expiring.
I went to register my first ever domain with namecheap and unfortunately it didn't go well. Their customer support is ridiculous. GoDaddy is much better.
There are very few good and cheap registrars. There are very few good and cheap hosting companies. There are no companies that are good and cheap for both domain name and website hosting. I use shared hosting because I don't have enough visitors to justify an upgrade. I use godaddy for domain names and hostmonster for hosting.
