Hi, I purchased deluxe hosting plan on Go Daddy and I have one noob question There is phrase "Unlimited Web sites" in features list. I'm having now just one domain on Go Daddy but when I will buy another one, can I add this domain to this single Deluxe hosting? When I tried to make my new hosting there was form with domain selection, so I couldn't select more domains? Thanks a lot...
Yeah You can add the domain to your account (I think you can add unlimited domains actually) and put it onto a new/the same site.
I purchased new domain before 2 minutes, add it to my hosting and receive 1 free hosting credit. Does it means that I'm able to host next domain with same hosting? Geoffrey: Thank you, hope that you're right
Yes it does...hahah it's me again I think hosting credits go towards stuff, go when you get x credits you can buy (for example) a domain name.
the free hosting credit on godaddy is a free hosting account, you can basically run a website on the free hosting account that costs you nothing but godaddy run ads across the top of all your pages. it looks horrible, but the features you get with the free hosting are better than many paid hosting sites offer. also, i'm not sure if you can run your own ads on the freehosted site or not, perhaps check the t&c's associated with the freehosting?
Lazaru5: Thank you, I discovered that you can also create email for that credits... Please next question: I have now 2 domains in one hosting, but how can I log to the second domain's FTP? First domain is as primary (and uses FTP root) and second, third,... must be associated with folder on FTP (eg. root/mydomain.com)?
You can run your own ads on the free godaddy hosting, as long as it doesn't mess with the terms and conditions of their ads or your ads. i.e. you can't show Adsense on the same page as another PPC company.
hmm, i haven't used the godaddy hosting for a while but i think you just connect to either www.mydomain.com or ftp.mydomain.com with your ftp program and enter the user/pass associated with that domain.. not 100% sure though, as i said its a while since i used it
Lazaru5: Unfortunately this doesn't work. It looks like you need one primary domain and other domain will be associated with each folder (eg myseconddomain.com under folder myseconddomain on ftp). Strange thing is that ftp.myseconddomain.com is working
can you not access as root and then open the folder associated with the second domain then? i.e. root/pub_html(or whatever)/domain1 -or- root/pub_html(or whatever)/domain2 (or 3 etc). i rarely log in to my hosting account as root anyway, so this is guesswork, (and i have a dedicated server which i guess also makes a difference) is this on the paid hosting of godaddy? i only ever used the free, and it was always going to be temporary anyway.. sorry i cant be of more help, someone that uses godaddy hosting regularly can probably help better than me
Lazaru5: Yes, that's right way, only small problem is that you must have one primary domain (files must be in root) so there will be always little mess, but it isn't big problem thanks for your help, reputation added...
