gmail?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask?

I'm UK based and if I wanted to sign up for free gmail account, it would be xxxx@mail.google.com.

I would like xxxx@gmail.com, is this possible please?

yeah, it is xxx(at)gmail.com

 

All new accounts are , however the still redirects to that at the moment.

uk automatically get googlemail.com i believe due to the fact they couldn't get the domain gmail.co.uk

 

erm! must be a way of getting an gamil[dot]com account, even UK based. Thinking out loud, maybe using proxies?

As I said, all new accounts are @googlemail.com but, as The Emirates Gallastico rightly says, the @gmail.com variant will still work for the moment. There's talk that Google might lose the gmail.com domain in future.

 

I'm obviously banging my head off a brick wall here.
