Gmail uses compression?

    I just noticed my Gmail quota "You are currently using 7 MB (0%) of your 2097 MB.", but I remembered it was more than 30 MB, not very sure about it though, checked it when there was a thread discussing about it here. Did your Gmail shrink too?
