Over the past week my Gmail accounts have begun to be locked down with increasing regularity. These lockdown last about 24 hours. I first saw something about this in a thread started about a month ago. When it happened to me I updated the thread with my own experience last night: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=459651 As of this morning when I try to send a reply email through several of my Gmail accounts the outgoing mail is blocked by Google with what they are calling "'Sector 5 bounces". The Google help concerning this states: Now I was manually replying to genuine emails that I had received from people requesting information. There was no SPAM, or distribution lists or anything weird going on with these specific accounts. I even tried replying to emails via a proxy .. no go joe. Still blocked. I emailed Google last night concerning all the lockdowns, and this morning I received a typical useless form letter. Anyway it appears that I am no longer able to use Gmail. Searching on this topic shows that others are begining to have similar problems. This is just a warning to those of you that depend on Gmail. Something is going on.
that why gmail is still beta. My suggestion is to shoot them a reply to the email they send you. Most the time after 3 reply you will get a real respond rather than just a canned repond.
That's really strange. I have a couple gmail email account and no problems. I like Yahoo Mail better though
I have not exeperienced this problem with my gmail account, which seems to be working fine, although my wife is always telling me she is not getting all of her e-mail messages. With respect to Yahoo mail, how is the spam level? I have one account that gets hit with hundreds and hundreds of spam messages. -Gene
A XSS expliot got found in Gmail allowing an attacker to read all sorts of your info from Gmail and other Google apps like calendar. No doubt it has to do with them repairing it.
