Has anyone noticed that Gmail has started to increase it's level of spam protection? I'm now getting alot more false positives than I did before. I've also noticed almost zero spam messages getting to my inbox, whereas I used to receive maybe 1-2 a week that made it to my inbox. Anyone else noticing this?
I'm new to gmail, but I like their spam filter. I don't mind checking for the false positives each day and moving them to the inbox. Better than an inbox full of spam, in my view.
I have seen a few false positives and I have also had a few spam messages make it through their filter. For some reason I seem to be a magnet for russian spam, but over all I am extremely impressed with their filter.
The false positives are very few for me. Usually, a forward from a family member that put too many addresses in the To: box or a news subscription with too many html links in the body. Easy enough to correct for future messages.
It's really good for me too. I do get more false positives than spam that gets through, but it only tags the newsletters once in a while as spam, which is pretty normal for spam filters. Compared to any other spam filtering services or software I've tried, gmail's spam filtering is by far the best.
I actually noticed the same problem. A lot of my real mail all of a sudden started ending up in Spam folder. I had to go around and add a bunch of the sender addresses to my contacts to remedy this. In general, their Spam filter does rock
hmm... it seems to be the opposite for me... i hardly ever get false positives but i've gotten spam getting into my inbox...
