Hi guys Happy new year to you all: Not sure if I'm behind the 8 ball here, but I just tried to setup several new email accounts for a new campaign I'm running. I was pretty amazed that I had to confirm "ALL" the new Gmail accounts using phone verification. I tried the usual CAPTCHA codes, but each and every time, I was taken to the PV page and could not get around it, regardless if I filled out the CAPTCHA or not! Is this something just for my neck of the woods or is it now the only way to get a Gmail account?
Yeah, I usually have to verify by phone as well. This is to decrease the amount of spammers that create accounts. It can be annoying, but I don't worry about it. Jake
Jake, Yeah that's OK generally . . . but using my VoIP number I only managed to create 3 before Google said "no more!"
It is very important for Google to get phone verification for new Google account to prevent spamming with multiple fake accounts. If you loose your password or access of your gmail account than using phone number would be beneficial for you to get back your account.
For creating more account from a same IP address, you will have to verify your phone number. But I think you can avoid your phone verification by using IP address hiding software. I think it will work. Happy new year 2013 to all.
Phone verification code is essential to open a G mail account. It is required to all. You can open 4/5 G mail account with a single phone number.
I hear what you're saying, but if Google go the same way as the other PVA sites, it could become an issue for those of us who use multiple accounts for various marketing. I actually managed to open only 3 accounts before being advised that I'd already used the same number. While I agree it's good to stop spammers, I know people who have already got 100+ gmail accounts - the new rules won't stop them spamming, so it's a bit late in the day to start PVA's IMOH.
Hey you can use your co-worker's or any friend's number for verification. I am not sure with using proxy sites, as the problem here is the phone number not the ip. Hope this helps.
It'll be very interesting to watch and see if Google stay with this method - their whole business is based on bringing customers to their services, this in my opinion, may restrict the flow . . . but time will tell.
i think now gmail is more secure then ever, now the phone verification is necessary for all the account we make on gmail.
You can also use an Email ID to verify the new Gmail ID. Just write an Email ID in the form and you will get a verification mail to that mail on which you have to click on a verification link..Job is done
You can try to connect with the gmail service. My friend's blog had the same problems before and he write emails to Google Gmail service and got the solution.
Recently i was wrote an article about that. With the help you can use G mail account with your Cell Phone.
Google phone verification is become necessary to create new gmail account. Sometime you are able to create a gmail account without verification using other email id but after some time as you started to use Google services it will ask you for the mobile number.
Google phone verification is one of the best option of the google which help you to recover your password if you forget your password and if someone hack your account.
Phone number verification is very important for reducing spammers and fortunately it'll also be useful in time when you forgot your password. But when it comes to some marketing officer, its an embarrassing one. Anyway Google is maintaining it for good pretext.
