Yeah, but they're both competing with each other. Google and Yahoo, that is. To the OP, Well, I'm pretty sure that they had some smart plans for the whole G-Mail thing. Maybe people will see that they're accepting the fact that G-Mail is growing and Yahoo! Mail is slowly decreasing? Yugo,
I think Yahoo trying to help their user to access many things from a single page. Thats why they have Facebook, Gmail etc on their page.
It goes directly to gmail.com ? If so then maybe they are promoting them...for a cash settlement of course But if it doesnt go directly maybe they are giving people who do have a gmail account easier access to emails without leaving yahoo
Are you sure about that, because I dont get the gmail link on my yahoo homepage. It also must be the way you use your yahoo homepage. Their startegy must be if cannot beat them, then just be with them in the news so you will sustain
but it's not like gmail offer something better then ymail yes, I wasn't logged in when I saw this.. check the pic
are you kidding? Gmail is ten time better than Yahoo mail! It load very fast, you can change a lot of settings, you have alerts, the messages from the same user are easy to track! Gmail = 10 points Yahoo = 3 points
I think it's not about Yahoo promoting GMail. I think Yahoo is trying to become home page on every computer around the world. And allowing access to GMail from there homepage is a very good thing, because the users will not go to GMail's site for checking mail. I think Yahoo is enough intelligent.
I know AOL does the same thing on there mail. I think Google is most likely paying for that link to be there. Why not make money from the competition?
I can't remember where I saw it, but I saw Yahoo using google adsense the other day on one of their pages
