Why is yahoo promoting Gmail?

 

My yahoo goes to the UK and i don't see it but the only possible reason they are advertising it is cause they got paid.

 

How do they think to beat google, when they sold them spots.

 

The link is to gmail, not google.

Yahoo is trying to make yahoo the default home page, so that you can access gmail from there.

 

Wouldn't they want visitors to signup for there yahoo mail service and not gmail?

 

Yes, but if people are not switching from gmail, the second best option is to let them what they use - from YOUR site.

Who told you the link goes to google? I told it's gmail.. and giving people lead to biggest rival isn't something on which they should be proud of.

I heard somewhere that Google has some partner ship in yahoo too, may that be a reason of this ad.. i guess

 

There is an old saying, if you can't beat them then join them, Yahoo is doing the same in these circumstances.
