    Why is yahoo promoting Gmail?

    My yahoo goes to the UK and i don't see it but the only possible reason they are advertising it is cause they got paid.

    The link is to gmail, not google.

    Yahoo is trying to make yahoo the default home page, so that you can access gmail from there.

    Yes, but if people are not switching from gmail, the second best option is to let them what they use - from YOUR site.

    Who told you the link goes to google? I told it's gmail.. and giving people lead to biggest rival isn't something on which they should be proud of.
